‘US better act before Israel attacks Iran’ US congressional leader Dan Burton (R-IN) told the powerful House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday that if the US does not get serious about stopping the Iranian nuclear program, it is going to have to deal with a Middle East in flames as the result of a preemptive Israeli strike on the Islamic Republic. Burton noted that after years of international diplomatic efforts, Iran is still enriching uranium with the expected intention of building a nuclear weapon. This, warned Burton, Israel cannot and will not allow to continue past a certain point. If Washington does not want the much larger task of calming a Middle East embroiled in war, it should get more serious about the comparatively smaller task of strong-arming the Iranian regime into giving up its nuclear quest, Burton implied. The congressman’s warning echoed that of French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on Monday, when he told London’s Daily Telegraph that Israel “will not tolerate an Iranian bomb,” and will eventually attack Iranian nuclear facilities if the international community fails to come up with another solution.

Rocket from Lebanon hits northern Israel

Terrorist forces operating out of UN-monitored southern Lebanon fired a rocket into northern Israel late Tuesday evening, causing no injuries or damage. Israeli forces responded with artillery fire on the source of the rocket fire.

A joint force consisting of UN peacekeepers and Lebanese soldiers later investigated the launch site and found four unused Katyusha missiles, three of which were set up in launch position.

Israeli officials said they hold the Lebanese government responsible for attacks any its citizens carry out against Israel. Jerusalem filed an official complaint with the UN over continued violations of the Security Council resolution that ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War.

According to that resolution, all independent armed forces were to be moved out of southern Lebanon, putting their short-range missiles beyond range of Israel. A huge UN peacekeeping force of 10,000 soldiers is deployed in southern Lebanon to make sure those terms are kept, but has done little to fulfill its mandate.

The Christian Perspective on Science

The word "science" comes from the latin word "scientia" which literally means "knowledge". Most scientists today aren’t really praticing science. What they appear to be doing mostly resembles some sort of religion. The scientific disciplines are supposed to involve the application of knowledge to the field of study. That which passes for science today is not science at all but seems to be made up of mostly speculation and hypothetical theories designed to back one religious position over another.

The real essence of science has no religious bias. It doesn’t make claims about the existence of God one way or the other. Science is knowledge in the natural sense. The existence of God is spiritually discerned. To know God is to have spiritual knowledge and through a relationship with God there is a real, natural manifestation in a person’s life. Because the origin of the relationship is spiritual it is not something that can be tested in a lab. The physical results of this relationship with God can be observed in physical healings and other miraculous manifestations but when natural science is applied it fails because it does not recognize the transcendental realities. It would be like measuring the temperature of a liquid with an ohm meter. Your results will not yield any accurate information.

So science, as knowledge, is a benefit to everyone whether Christian or not. When scientists come up with findings that are indisputable we can thank them for their effort and make our own conclusions. We can ignore the conclusions of atheists and conflate the science with what we know from the Bible. So when the discovery of such things as endogenous retro-viruses becomes public and turns out to be real science we conflate that information with what the Bible says about the sins of the fathers being passed on to the following generations and conclude that the physical manifestation of sin is viral. If shared genetics (i.e. chimps and humans) show the same viral infections in the same markers the religious evolutionists claim to have proven the leap from primates to people (without transitional evidence) and yet the only thing proven is that the two share similar building material just as the Bible predicts. The same is true for mitochondrial dna and Neandertal man. Both show strong evidence backing the Genesis account.

Science relies heavily on logic. If something is illogical, it can not be scientific. The irony here is that logic is transcendental and evidence (though not conclusive) for the existence of God. It is the tool given by God to figure out science (natural knowledge). Logic is the final nail in the coffin containing the dead religion of atheism. It should drive people away from the lazy position of disbelief and into a search for the giver of logic. Logic is God’s calling card.

As Christians we are obliged to respect the logic and apply real science to real life. Countless lives have been extended and a great deal of pain has been relieved over the centuries by applying real science. We thank God for it.

Stop Blaming Your Wife When God is Holding You Accountable

One of the most eye-opening, jaw-dropping verses in the Bible is 1Kings 14:17. Now that’s amazing! After everything Jezebel did, God actually held Ahab responsible. Jezebel is mentioned only as a secondary figure and gets no mention at all in the books of the Chronicles. Now as I read the story, Ahab was a sniveling little worm and Jezebel actually did all the dirty work but in the end the responsibility was placed on the husband. That should cause the men reading this to perk up and take notice.

There are a few truths that apply to men whether they walk in them or not. Men are the spiritual heads of their wives. They just are, whether they know it or not. That’s why women should never marry an unsaved man. If you do you will have Satan as your father-in-law and one of his children as your husband. That’s why Paul tells us not to be unequally yoked. He also says in 1Cor 7 that the unbelieving husband is better off because of his believer wife but if he decides to leave then Paul says to let him. The woman will no longer be bound to that person. This really is important stuff folks.

So, what about believers? Well, the Bible gives a clear lineage of authority. Eph 5:23 says that the husband is the head of the wife "even as" Christ is head of the Church and savior of the body. I can remember many years ago when Bonnie and I were still smokers. I would pray constantly that the Lord would get her to quit smoking and His answer was always "you first". That’s exactly how it worked out too. I quit first and she followed. Now when it comes to spiritual gifts and church activity there is no such thing as male or female. We are all sons of God and we are all members of the "Bride of Christ". There’s no sexual distinction. But in the marriage union it’s a totally different scenario that plays out.

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;". That was Paul’s admonition to the church in Ephesus in chapter 5 verse 25. Jesus did for his bride what Adam should have done for his. Instead, what do we see Adam doing with Eve? He blamed her didn’t he? He told God it was the woman’s fault. God didn’t buy it. Jesus took the blame for his bride and husbands are supposed to bear the responsibility for their wives. It’s that simple folks. Men are designed to take it. We are in the place of Christ for our wives. We are responsible for where they are spiritually. Indeed we are. As we see the way our wives are we take our concerns to the prayer closet and we do battle there. We declare over our wives who they are in Christ. We don’t correct them to their faces. We do battle in the spirit realm. We speak the truth about our wives alone and when we emerge we can confidently look for the physical manifestation to take place. This is a real phenomenon. I’ve witnessed it over and over. I can remember one instance when a very personal aspect of our marriage was drastically overlooked and under serviced. The Lord prompted that instead of being depressed about it and complaining to Him about it I should get alone and do something about it. I should battle it into existence. So one night while I was alone I began declaring that thing that was absent in our marriage to become a reality. It was something that couldn’t be a reality without my wife’s full and willing participation so this was going to be a real test. To this day I am astonished at how quickly that became a reality in our marriage and we’ve been enjoying the fruit of it ever since. I did nothing in the natural to manipulate the situation. There was nothing I could do anyway. It had to be her complete free will decision and she walked right into the open door I created for her in my prayer time. It really is amazing. I speak peace to her while I’m alone and she experiences it. I speak greatness into her life in my prayer closet and I watch her change before my very eyes without ever telling her about it. This is the most incredible tool you will ever have in defense of your marriage.

It all begins, as it does with everthing else, with the first step. And the first step is to repent. Now, repentance is simply changing your mind and agreeing with God. God says that men are the spiritual heads over their wives and are responsible for their well being. They just are. He also says we can do something about it. This will take an enormous amount of mind-renewal; especially if you listen to secular ideas concerning marriage and relationships. The fifty-fifty model simply doesn’t work. It is mathematically flawed from the start. Fifty percent times fifty percent is only twenty five percent, guys. The reason as many divorces happen in the church as in the world is because the church has brought the world in and embraced it. It’s time to kick it out and embrace God’s ways. Every marriage is perfect and every divorce is a perfect marriage sacrificed on the altar of self. A wife will submit to a husband who knows how to give his life for her. It begins with you men. You first.

The Closed-minded Laziness of Atheism

I used to be an atheist. I’m very familiar with the modern atheist world view which is essentially nothing more than the re packaged philosophy of naturalism. I don’t mean naturalism per se’. Naturalism takes on many faces from nudism to bird watching. The philosophy of naturalism however is not ambiguous concerning its meaning. It can, in fact, be defined with one sentence: the belief or doctrine that nature as it exists is all there is and nothing exists outside of nature. In other words there are no supernatural or transcendental realities. What you see is what you get. This is modern atheism. This is the new religion.

The sad plight of the modern atheist is the self refuting aspect of the movement. It is based on logical findings against any evidence for transcendental realities and yet logic itself is transcendental. So the favored tool of the atheist actually needs to be borrowed from the world view held by the theists and deists. Ironic, n’est pas?

Atheism is by definition a logical fallacy. It commits the same logical fallacy which says there’s no such thing as black swans. A person must have seen every swan in the universe past, present, and future. This is not possible. The definition for atheism from dictionary.com is "the doctrine or belief that there is no God". This is a clear violation of logic. "But", the atheist will say, "there is no evidence for any gods so we disbelieve in their existence". This is where the closed-minded laziness comes in. Even Richard Dawkins, in the second chapter of his book "the blind watch maker" admits that the evidence for a designer is "overwhelming" but since we (atheists) don’t believe in anything transcendental it must be an "illusion". Dr. Dawkins personifies closed-minded laziness.

Apart from the logic evidence for God and the design evidence for God is the anecdotal evidence for God. An anecdote is a personal account of events which happen to someone and to which that person is the only available witness. These accounts are often subject to embellishment due to the lack of corroboration but the events are real in any regard and provide an ocean of supernatural and transcendental evidence to which the atheist responds by either mocking and ridicule or by sticking their fingers in their ears and ignoring the evidence completely.

My advice to the modern atheist is to stop ignoring the evidence. Embrace the minimum logical conclusion that the philosophy of naturalism is dead. Take the first step toward reality. Visit www.prosperousindividual.com today.

Forgiveness is Already Yours so Stop Asking for It

There are very few things that bother me more than I when I hear someone call themselves a "Christian" and a "leader" and then move on to teach others certain doctrines that completely conflict with the Gospel message. Just last night I went to a men’s meeting for the first time that I was invited to. The Lord instructed me to just be silent and to listen. What I heard was quite disturbing.

There was a young man there who had only been saved since January. He was sharing some personal struggles he was having with sin. The "leader" of the group told the young man that the first thing he must "do" is to ask God for forgiveness. He told him to say "God please forgive me for doing this". What a terrible thing to say.

The Bible is clear about many things. One of those things is that as a "new creature" in Christ we no longer belong to ourselves. We are not our own, the Bible says. We were purchased with a price. That’s why we should never rob God by "tithing". All of our money belongs to God because all of us belongs to Him. Not only that but we are totally and completely forgiven for everything we will ever do and ever have done. We are no longer sinners. We are the righteousness of God in Christ. As Jesus is in heaven so are we on the earth. Is Jesus a sinner? No! Sinning is not normal for us. It is quite strange for us to sin because we are not sinners. It no less strange than an elephant nesting in a tree. That’s how odd it is for a follower of Christ to sin. The Bible says that there is no longer any more forgiveness for sin but a fearful expectation of judgement. To ask God to forgive you for anything is no different than asking Jesus to give up his life for you all over again. My friend if you have been born again and are a follower of Jesus Christ then you are perpetually forgiven allways. It’s that simple.

In the context of relationship it is crucial to maintain a proper honest confession before God. He knows what you’re doing anyway so you might as well own up to it. The sooner you confess your sin the purer your connection with the giver of life will be. Forgiveness is like a pool. It is always there. It is never depleted. As a child of God who has been adopted out of the family of Satan there is never a time when you are out of a state of forgiveness. There is no more forgiveness available to you or anyone else. It was all purchased at the cross.

I know that many of you are thinking that you know that you are forgiven but you still believe in asking for forgiveness. Why? Let me tell you why. It’s a works mentality driven into you that says God is angry with you and requires some sort of effort on your part to attain forgiveness. I know this is true because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Asking for and in some cases begging for forgiveness is a terrible bondage. If you are saved then you are forgiven. That’s all you need to know and that’s the knowledge in which you should walk.

If (not when) you sin you should simply acknowledge the truth about it, repent (stop doing it) and thank God for the strength to move on from it all the while recognizing the forgiven state you are in. You are free. Start acting like it.

Report: Israel will attack Iran by land

If diplomatic efforts fail to halt Iran’s nuclear program, Israel will attack the Islamic Republic, but not by air, as most expect, according to a report in a French magazine this week.

Le Canard Enchaine reported that Israel is preparing to launch ground operations against Iran’s nuclear facilities, probably sometime early next year.

As evidence, the magazine pointed out that Israel recently purchased a large quantity of high-quality combat rations from a French provider and ordered that Israelis who serve in elite commando units return from vacations and from living abroad.

The report also claimed that during his recent visit to France, Israeli army chief Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi confirmed that Israel is not planning to bomb Iran, but suggested pinpoint ground incursions were a possibility.

Those incursions would presumably be aimed at sabotaging Iranian nuclear facilities.

If your Pastor’s Pushing You to Tithe… Fire Your Pastor

Well, you really can’t find another church. The reason simply is there’s only one church. The church is the Bride of Christ. No matter where you go on the planet there’s only one church. So what should you do if your Pastor is pushing the religious tithing message on you? How about firing your Pastor?

Tithing is a horrible form of manipulation. It is almost always associated with a curse of one’s finances if not strictly adhered to. It is also one of the ways religious leaders secure an income. God isn’t pleased with this type of Satanic bullying and there’s a greater judgement waiting for those who preach it.

The tithing message comes from a covenant that is no longer in effect; the Mosaic Covenant. It was introduced into the family of Jacob (Israel) by Moses after he, by the power of God, delivered them out of Egypt. Tithing was put in place to make sure the priests were fed. Now that we have a new covenant the old one is gone. There is no need to pay tithes to the decendants of Aaron any longer and there certainly is no new covenant requirement to pay ten percent of your paycheck to your Pastor.

There is no record of Abraham (not Abram) tithing in the Bible. When he was still Abram he tithed out of that which belonged to the King of Sodom and not out of his own posessions. After he made a covenant with God he was given a new name (Abraham), which represents the new nature and there is no record of him tithing after that. The same thing happened with Jacob. He promised, as Jacob, to pay tithes forever and yet after God changed his name to Israel there is no record of him tithing any longer.

So if your Pastor fears for how he will keep food on the table if he doesn’t manipulate you into tithing then fire him. You do that with your feet. Simply walk out and look for an assembly that preaches freedom. In the end it is freedom from religion that ultimately matters. The non-religious relationship with God is available to you because of what Jesus has done on the cross. He purchased you and that means all of you. You don’t get to keep ninety percent for yourself while giving ten percent back to God. If you keep even a fraction of one percent for yourself then you are robbing God. There’s no other way of looking at it.

Fasting Has Nothing to do with Food

Fasting is not generally associated with anything pleasant or satisfying. Some cultures claim that fasting from food to the point of near death brings about a type of euphoria otherwise unachievable. I do believe this to be true. In fact some medical scientists believe that death by starvation may be the single most pleasant way to go if given the choice. But, for the most part people are just not into the whole fasting thing simply because of the image it conjures up. Going without food for extended periods of time is just plain distasteful.

In an attempt to dispel the myths about fasting a person really must get a little deeper into it as the practice relates to the religion or culture that is practicing it. Some religious and cultural paradigms insist that fasting is strictly related to food and/or water. It is expected to translate into a greater spiritual awareness. The Bible, however, does not strictly limit fasting to that which is ingested through the mouth. In fact there is a chapter in Isaiah dedicated to explaining God’s intentions behind fasting and there is little mention of food anywhere in the entire passage. So that’s very interesting, right? If it’s not about food then what is it about? Why did Jesus say that we should continue to fast and why is there such a priority givn to it in the new covenant? The answer is very simple.
